I love to be pampered — I love going to spas and salons; and heading for luxurious getaways… once in a while. During my recent trip to Da Nang, I was invited to visit the Fusion Maia Resort. Now, if there is one Asian resort to stay in for a holiday of ultimate pampering; it has got to be the Fusion Maia. I knew I was in for a treat.
Hotel Overview
The beautiful Fusion Maia Resort Danang is located in the city of Da Nang in central Vietnam, the country’s third largest city. The resort is set towards the southern end of My Khe Beach, facing the East Vietnam sea; and is approximately 5km from the Danang town center, and about 20km from the ancient city of Hoi An.
What sets Fusion Maia Resort apart from the many resorts along the beach in Da Nang is its all-spa inclusive concept; a stay at the resort comes with spa treatments, private pools and breakfast at any time, any where. It’s like a 5-star healthy living retreat within a resort — how awesome is that?
The Fusion Maia Experience
The very first thing that caught my eye at the Fusion Maia Resort was the beautiful pastel tones of lavender and cream; as well as the fresh flowers that filled up the lobby area of the resort. I was greeted by Tessa Leenders, the Guest Care Manager and Social Media Advisor at Fusion Maia, who was made my visit to the resort absolutely wonderful.
Fusion Maia is surrounded by lush greenery and plants in a tropical setting– bamboo trees along the walkways, tall palm trees for shade, and colorful flowers all around the garden. What I loved most was the gorgeous infinity pool, which overlooks the lovely private beach. Can’t decide if I want a dip in the ocean, or a plunge in the pool!
Rooms
Fusion Maia has 80 pool villas, 4 spa villas with 2 bedrooms, and 2 grand beach villas with 3 bedrooms spread out within the resort. The villas come with state-of-the-art modern facilities like a swivel flat-screen tv, double vanity with his and hers toiletries, a sunken huge bathtub, rain shower, coffee machine; and of course, complimentary wifi and even an iPod with pre-loaded playlists. The best features has got to be the spacious living area, and the lovely private pool.
Room rates include everything you need for a luxurious holiday — spa treatments, anytime breakfasts, daily fitness activities and workshops, transfers to explore ancient Hoi An; and even your personal Fusionista, who is there to help you customize your experience to make the most out of your stay.
All-Inclusive Spa
The best part of the resort is of course, the Maia Spa — I could spend the entire day here. With more than 50 wellness specialists, each guest is entitled to 2 treatments a day; which includes a range of treatments like healing massages, wraps, body polishes and facials, nail care, as well as treatments for moms-to-be.
The spa itself is such a serene and zen place to be in, with a waterfall at the pool and small pavilions around the garden. My massage session at the resort was really relaxing, as the treatment was given according to my preference and personalized to suit me. It’s just amazing being pampered like that!
Healthy Living
The resort promotes healthy living; there is a health and wellness program with 7 daily schedules where guests can explore new holistic experiences such as yoga and meditation, tai chi, breathing practices, and even warrior workouts. Imagine practicing yoga by the beach, with the sound of waves in the background and the wind in your hair — ultimate peace and relaxation.
I enjoyed my lunch at Fresh Restaurant near the resort’s poolside. Their menu boasts the freshest ingredients; and I was spoiled for choice while going through their extensive list of fruit and vegetable juices. The resort also offers breakfast at any time and any place (either at Fresh, Five Dining Room, Fusion Cafe in Hoi An, in-room dining, or a private beach tent) — which means you can sleep to your heart’s content and wake up at 3pm in the afternoon. That, is just pure bliss.
At the End of the Day
Fusion Maia Resort offers its guests ultimate luxury and indulgence, peace and relaxation, and lots and lots of pampering. You may not want to leave the resort at all, but it’s also a great sanctuary to run back to should you decide to venture out and explore the beautiful town of Da Nang, the old town of Hoi An, or the ancient ruins of My Son.
I had a lovely time during my visit — and I have made it a point to return so I can pamper myself with all sort of spa treatments all day long, and soak up in the pool and the ocean the rest of the time!
