Tradewinds Travel recently opened its new travel services centre inside Istana Hotel in the Kuala Lumpur City Center.

The newly launched branch of the Tradewinds Travel Centre is a one stop centre for air tickets, ground arrangement, tours, travel and hospitality services; and they offer these services to Istana Hotel’s in-house guests, walk-in customers and corporate clients.

I have to admit that I am not one to seek help from travel centres or travel agencies for my travels, but sometimes a need calls for it, and its good to have a reliable and trustworthy centre to rely on for those times. So far, the few services I have received from Tradewinds Travel has been great.

A little more about the event — it was attended by major Airline representatives, business partners of Tradewinds, major clientele and media; as well as the VIPs, which included Mr. Mohd Khairy Abdul Rahim (General Manager of Tradewinds Travel), Mr. Arief Nasran Abdul Wahab (Executive Vice President-Head of Strategic Planning and Investment of Tradewinds Corporation Berhad), as well as YBhg Dato’ Ooi Teik Huat and Dato’ Muhammad Zainal (Board Members Tradewinds Corporation Berhad).

I was especially in awe of the pulut kuning “cake” used for the opening ceremony. In direct translation pulut kuning means yellow glutinous rice, which is a traditional Malay dessert and usually not served in such a large portion! And at the end of the event, a lucky draw was held where they gave away prizes such as an Air Ticket worth RM1000, Movie Animation Park Studio (MAPS) tickets, and a 3 Days 2 Nights trip to Krabi  — but as usual, I am never that lucky.
