Here’s my suggested itinerary for a one day visit to Busan. It’s a collection of my favorite places, and a slow-paced introduction to the city for my partner, who was in Busan for the first time.
It was a full day exploring the northeastern coast of New Taipei City — it brought me to Wanli to see its gorgeous geological formations, and to Jinshan for a relaxing soak in its famous hot springs.
While in New Taipei City, I made a day trip to visit the city of Sanxia and its famous old street, and also the nearby ceramics town of Yingge.
I had a lovely day exploring the port city of Tamsui in New Taipei City. And then come night, I visited the city’s Christmasland for a Christmassy lights extravaganza.
My half day visit to Nara — where I got to hang out with hundreds of deer, visit some of Japan’s most ancient temples, and dine on delicious grilled eel. Oh, did I mention the adorable deer?
A half day visit to see the lovely town of Himeji — the famous Himeji Castle, and the autumn night lights of the Koko-en Garden.
Surrounded by forested hills all around, Mae Hong Son really is the quiet, misty town I have always imagined it to be. Here’s how I spent my day in this rustic town on the northern hills of Thailand.
When I think about Kobe, I think about beef! And yes, the beef is heavenly, but the Japanese harbor city itself is a wonderful place for exploring — there’s so much to see. Here’s how I spent my day in Kobe.
I only had a day to visit one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal routes — the Great Ocean Road. So I used it to visit seaside towns, admire the stunning coastline, and chill by the gorgeous beaches. I wish I had more time!
Hoi An is a picturesque little Southeast Asian town with old traditional Vietnamese houses lining the narrow lanes; lanterns hanging from across the streets, and fishing nets and small boats floating along the river. Here’s an account of my day in the historic old town.
Sapporo is modern, dynamic and compelling; and during my visit in autumn, beautiful. I only had one day in the city, so I made use of my time to sample what Sapporo is famous for; the beer, the food and the shopping.
