Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel (Review)

The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel has been making a name for itself since it opened in 2011, and is now one of the most well-know hotels in Ibiza. It is the go-to hotel for the best beachfront location and the best open-aired parties.

Overview
The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel is an adult-only hotel located at the party central of Playa d’en Bossa, on the southern coast of Ibiza. It is a collaboration between the best beach club in the world and the Palladium Hotel Group, which is one of the largest Spanish hotel chains.

The hotel was our first choice as it offered everything we wanted– lazing all day on the Playa d’en Bossa Beach, and then partying all night long to big-name DJ’s like Avicii and David Guetta. When we found out that staying at the hotel meant instant access to their performances, we were sold!

Ushuaia is divided into two parts– the club rooms, which is close to the main pool and the outdoor party area; and the tower rooms, which is located next to it. We chose to stay in the tower, at the “Anything Can Happen Suite with Stage View”– so we could have some privacy and sleep away the hangover if needed, or choose to watch the party from afar. The price for the suite costs about €1,200 (US$1,350) per night, and the club rooms start at €650 (US$700).

Arriving at the Hotel
The hotel was abuzz when I arrived– the party had already started and people were walking in and out of the hotel in their party best. The hotel exudes a combination of class and extravagance, it felt like I was stepping into an exclusive luxury party club. At check-in, we were given our hotel band that allowed us access to all the parties hosted by Ushuaia, and mine read ‘The Star’. What a way to make me feel important!

The Ushuaia Experience
In Ushuaia– everything is meticulously prepared to provide guests with a luxurious stay. I truly felt like I was a superstar and I absolutely loved my suite in the Ushuaia Tower. The first thing I did was head out to the balcony– the view is to die for! I could see the entire outdoor party stage area on one side, and the gorgeous emerald sea on the other.

The suite is huge and spacious; with a comfy king-sized bed, an enormous lounge chair and the fantastic outdoor whirlpool bath. I only had problems with the open-toilet concept, not such a good idea if you’re sharing the room with a couple of friends.

The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel has three pools– the main pool and the river pool are at the club area, while the infinity pool is at the tower. In the day, the main outdoor pool provides heated water, massage jets, underwater speakers and has a swin-up bar; and at night, it becomes the center of the biggest party on the island. But with the sand and sea just a stroll away– pools seldom become a choice for me, I still prefer sun-bathing on the beach.

The Playa d’en Bossa lies just in front of the hotel, and is the longest stretch of beach on the island. It is activity-filled with an array of watersports, and the popular beach club Bora Bora located on the stretch. It’s the best place to people watch while sun-bathing on Ushuaia’s white leather beach beds.

The hotel has a variety of restaurants– a steakhouse, a Japanese restaurant, an oyster bar, and several bars that provide poolside partying, beautiful views and all-night drinking sessions. However, with the variety of restaurants in Ibiza, the only time I ate at the hotel was at breakfast. The spread was excellent, with a choice of everything from cooked meals to meat platters and fruits; and champagne.

The Party Scene
The party never stops at Ushuaia and the music plays all day long. In the afternoon, people chill out at the pool bars and the performers come out to entertain. Some of the clubs on the island even take it to the beach– with scantily clad men and sexy women dancing while holding up banners promoting their clubs.

Come evening, the crowd fills up the main pool area where the stage is located and the real party begins. And as soon as it turns dark, everything goes into full swing– bright lights, loud music and the singing from the crowd can be heard from afar.

On the first night, we watched Avicii from the room balcony before joining in the crowd, and it was so packed that it was hard to find a proper place to stand. So the following night during David Guetta’s performance, we went in much earlier and got a spot right in front of the stage. Best time ever!

At the End of Day
The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel is a big reason why my trip to Ibiza was one of the best party trips I’ve ever had. Staying here could actually mean you don’t have to go anywhere else to eat, sleep, relax and party. But of course, there’s so much of Ibiza to explore, and you can check out my post here: Mynn’s Top 10 Things I Did in Ibiza.

For a taste of the high life– living in the most luxurious room, partying in the hottest party in town, basking in the sun with beautiful people and getting the best Ibizian service… Ushuaia is the place to be.
