My very first experience of Turkey was through Ankara. I was following a tour group with Parlo Tours… and upon arriving in the country, we were whisked away on a 5-hour journey from the city of Istanbul to Turkey’s capital city. That only left us with about half a day to explore Ankara (and honestly I wished we had more time), but that little introduction left me looking forward to what more Turkey had in store for me! Here’s a city that tells the story of Turkey’s long history — from the buildings from the Roman and Ottoman eras, to monuments of modern Turkey.
