The final league of our road trip on the Japanese island of Hokkaido brought us to the lake town of Toyako; known for the beautiful caldera lake, Lake Toya. Activities around the area includes soaking in an onsen, sailing around the lake on a sightseeing boat, and taking the ropeway up to the nearby active volcano, Mount Usu. I enjoyed the relaxed, laid-back vibe of the lake town — and it was the perfect location to end our Hokkaido adventure.
